How Much Malware Can You Get From or is a file downloading site associated with CNET that is notorious for containing downloads bundled with adware, spyware and other malicious files. The site itself is harmless, as long as the user doesn't download anything. However, some files downloaded from are not malicious.  


Launched in 1996, it first gained notoriety for its malware in August 2011 when the site introduced its CNET TechTracker installation manager, which delivered many software titles from its catalog. It happened to include Trojans and Bloatware, such as toolbars. CNET admitted that "a small number of security publishers have flagged the Installer as adware or a potentially unwanted application". The TechTracker has since been discontinued.


First, use any antivirus software to remove the basic threats. Then, download a program such as Malwarebytes or HitManPro to help clean out the more difficult threats.
